Barbados.

Barbados is hands down my favourite Caribbean Island that I have visited so far. Beautiful white-sand beaches, amazing food, friendly locals and great rum! I mean, what’s not to love?

There are plenty of beach resorts to choose from across the Island. Usually I prefer the smaller and more intimate resorts, however, this time around I stayed at the Hilton resort and I was pleasantly surprised. What I loved about this luxurious resort is that every guest is provided with a private balcony, overlooking a sea view. As you can see from my pictures, this is a dream to wake up to. Not only is the resort beachfront, but it also has two big pools including an infinity pool. Did I mention happy hour? Yes, half price cocktails and alcoholic beverages! Definitely my kinda’ place.

And here I am, trying to look cute in my hammock on the beach. This truly is an amazing location to unwind and relax.

So apart from relaxing on the beach, what else is there to do in Barbados? Plenty…

I highly recommend you go on a Jammin catamaran cruise. It’s a great way to see other parts of the island and you are given the opportunity to swim with turtles, fish and around a shipwreck. The cruise also includes an open bar and a food buffet; it was a great experience and well worth it!

Eat great food! Unfortunately I am lacking food pictures due to my greediness but make sure you go to Oistins Fish Fry on Friday! The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is great. I recommend that you check out Mo’s, which is right next to the performance stage.

After eating so much Bajan macaronie pie and fish, I fancied a change. A 10 minute walk from The Hilton, I discovered Jamaica 246 which I ended up eating breakfast at most days! The food was delicious. For those who don’t know, in the picture above, I have ackee and saltfish, fried plantain and festivals. Do visit this restaurant if you are near by, you will not be disappointed!

The boatyard! I love this place. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and we had so much fun. From swinging off a rope into the sea, jumping on the trampoline in the sea and snorkelling with turtles. There are plenty other things to do in Barbados such as visiting the mount gay factory, a night out in the gap or harbour lights. There is something for everybody in Barbados, whether you are visiting as a family, a couple or solo travel.

If you haven’t already, I hope that someday you can experience the beautiful Barbados.

Love always, G x
